Why did we change our name?

As an organization, we continue to sense a growing desire for individuals to find a deeper understanding of what it means to live out their faith in their workplace, wherever that is. We wonder whether God can truly use us and our work to impact communities and individual lives--perhaps beginning to see our work as a form of worship. Not all of us are called to be missionaries and pastors.  God provides us with unique skills, gifts and talents, and calls us to particular roles and activities. Although it might seem that certain roles are more important than others, our callings are equal and He can use each of us to be part of positively impacting society in our own unique ways.

The average person will spend about 90,000 hours at work in their lifetime. That’s a significant part of one’s life, and yet many find themselves lacking joy and true purpose in it. More and more people have a passion for pursuing things that have meaning and impact, and not just to have a career or earn a paycheck. When we see that work is created to glorify God, it completely changes our purpose and makes it meaningful.

We believe that we can fill the gap for believers to see that all of life can be worship – in our work, through obeying God’s command to steward His creation, through examining our attitude, ethics, excellence in our work, and through using our resources to generously serve those in need. We also have an incredible opportunity to share the Gospel with people who may never set foot in a traditional church through our workplaces, if we allow God to bring Him glory through us.

As we continue to move forward as an organization to better reflect and serve our community, we are very excited to announce that we are changing the operating name of the organization to Intersect – Faith Work and Society.  The definition of Intersect is “to pierce or divide by passing through or across”.  God is the foundation of all aspects of our life, including what we do Monday to Friday. The Bible makes it clear that God cares about this aspect of our lives work with more than 859 passages of scripture that relate to work.  There is actually no separation between who we are at work and who we are outside of work.  God is at the intersection of everything and created us to bring glory to Him in all aspects of our lives.

As an organization, we desire to help bridge the gap for people to better understand this vital and inevitable intersection of these three fundamental areas of our life - Faith, Work and Society.

We invite you to join us on this journey to bring God into the intersection of our Faith, Work, and Society.
