Established in 1984, INTERSECT (formerly the Calgary Chinese Christian Business and Professional Association) is a charitable, non-profit organization that serves local Christian communities who want to live with intention.
Who We Are
We are brothers and sisters in Christ, pursuing the Kingdom mission where we are, whether at the office, the clinics, the schools - all our workplaces and where we live. We strive to live with intention. Our vision is to connect our faith, daily places of work, and the society with which we interact.
What We Do
We believe that we can fill the gap for believers to see that all of life can be worship, including our work. As an organization, we desire to help bridge the gap for people to better understand this vital and inevitable intersection of these three fundamental areas of our life - Faith, Work and Society.

Daniel Cheng
has been actively involved with Intersect for many years and has a passion for people to deepen their understanding of the connection between their faith and work. Professionally he has worked in the investment industry for more than 18 years. Daniel also serves as a Board member for the Calgary and Area Child Advocacy Center, Wing Kei Care Centers and is the Honorary Chair for the Up the Down Dinner is support of the Down Syndrome Resource Foundation. A born and raised Calgarian, he enjoys spending time with his family when not working exploring the mountains, cycling, skiing and playing tennis.
Margaret Cheng
has been involved with Intersect for the past five years. She is a CA, CPA with over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. As a born and raised Calgarian, she loves the mountains and seeing the constant changes in the city. In her spare time, she enjoys food and can be found at the newest restaurant in town, flipping through recipes, or cooking with her two young daughters.
Christopher Cheung
was born in Edmonton but has lived most of his life in Calgary. He joined the Intersect board just over a year ago. For more than 15 years, Chris has been serving individuals, families, and businesses, by providing sound financial advice, wealth planning, and portfolio management. In his free time, Chris enjoys cycling, bouldering, menswear, DIY projects, and tinkering with cars. He still lives in Calgary, Alberta with his wife and 2 very active girls. When not at work, Chris and his family spend a lot of their time enjoying the outdoors.
Brian Cheung
is a born & raised Calgarian and resides in Calgary, AB. with his wife Louise. He is a practicing Registered Nurse with Alberta Health Services (AHS) working in the field of psychiatric nursing. He enjoys music, martial arts, photography and serving his community though their Nutrition Club small business. Brian has served with Intersect in different capacities throughout the years.
Joshua Ho
was born in Hong Kong, grew up in Calgary, and studied in London, UK, before returning to Calgary to start his career at a general practice law firm. Aside from work, Josh enjoys music, photography, and meeting people from diverse backgrounds through travelling. Josh has been involved with Intersect for two years before joining the board in 2020.
Randy Poon
in addition to serving first as an advisor and then now as a board member of Intersect, has also served as a lay pastor and board member on a number of churches and nonprofits. He is currently an executive and performance coach and was the former Business Program chair at Ambrose University in Calgary. He has a PhD in Organizational Leadership, as well as an MBA. Born and raised in Calgary, he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, cooking, and listening to music.
Haley Truong
was born and raised in Calgary. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and has worked in the municipal government and consulting industry in Talent Acquisition. Haley volunteered her time with Intersect at previous events before joining the board in 2020. She enjoys serving on the worship and graphics media teams at her church in her free time in addition to photography and hiking.
Jason Wai
has been a board member of Intersect for over 5 years. Professionally, he has been serving in the finance industry, specifically in investment banking for the last six years. Born and raised in Calgary, Jason enjoys taking his dog Juno out for jogs along the river and enjoys cycling and cooking in his free time.
Jeremy Wong
is a born and raised Calgarian that currently resides in Edmonton, AB with his wife Janice. He is a former pastor who is currently serving as a Policy Advisor in the Alberta government. He has a passion for faith, politics, Asian Canadian culture and the meaning of vocation, and has been involved as a board member with Intersect for several years.
